I had two issues with this — it came without a serial number when it was mailed to me and it slowed my brand new computer down significantly. I contacted customer support, and within 24 hours they emailed me the serial number to activate the program and responded to my complaint about speed. By their account, 4,000 people have the program and they had not had anyone else complain. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and the computer still was slow and told them… and the president of the company contacted me! He offered to cover any cost of fixing my computer if it was caused by his product, and wanted feedback so this could be prevented… I was hugely impressed! I contacted a computer person, who suggested I uninstall it and reinstall it again, and for whatever reason now it is fine, but I have never had such a good customer service experience, and had to pass that on.

As for the product itself, I haven’t had much time to play with it. There is a ton of information in there… with the phrase generator I will be able to learn lots of verbs in context (and pick up other vocabulary as well.) My Spanish is intermediate level, I can communicate fairly well but the words don’t come real quick, I think this will help with that. Verbs are one of the most difficult parts of Spanish, and understanding them quickly is one of the keys to communicating and understanding, and I expect this to be a huge help.

Clearly, it needs to be part of a program of studying Spanish, and for those who like to do it on their own time I would strongly recommend Learning Spanish Like Crazy Levels 1 and 2 and their FSI Spanish program, the Pimsleur series, Destinos (which is free online), and the [..]site for Spanish. ¡Buena suerte!

So… I’ve been learning spanish for awhile. I’d consider myself to be intermediate. I can hold a conversation and struggle when it comes to using past tense, talking about things I did awhile ago or just a moment ago… etc. I know a variety of verbs and get stuck.

That being said– this program was exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve been using audio CDs (Pimsleur and Learning Spanish Like Crazy) along with a variety of books to help with grammar.. but this program reeeeallly helped me to grasp the idea of using tenses and memorizing them quickly.

The program is set up for you to choose either multiple tenses, or one set of tenses and work on a set of verbs accordingly. (It’s like having flash cards along with someone to pronounce everything correctly for you). You can also go through and review all of the words.

I highly recommend this program. I wish I’d had it when I was in school– but I am really glad someone made a program like this one for me to use now*
